About Cecilia
Throughout her career, Cecilia has been deeply immersed in the reality of remote work. Starting as a buyer for a global wholesale tour operator where she spent 70% of her time on the road, she then co-founded and served as President of Smart Destinations. Here, she leveraged the power of a remote workforce to build the business to $100M in annual revenue. In recent years, she continued to capitalize on the value of remote work with TRAVELYTIC, an industry-leading analytics service she formed as a joint venture with a team of data scientists. And she did this while living and working from her sailboat, cruising the Eastern US and the Bahamas.
Cecilia's resume in remote work spans more than 30 years, from the ground floor to the C-Suite. There are few situations she hasn't encountered in one form or another – from the perspective of a team member or a leader.
Remote work has become a mainstay of our workplace culture. It's no longer reserved for a select set of "outside" roles. Today, advanced technologies and innovative communication methods have expanded opportunities for both employees and employers in almost all areas of business.
Unfortunately, the global pandemic forced remote work upon us. This sudden shift sent shockwaves through the business world, leading business to struggle with cultural changes, new tech requirements, communication challenges, and most significantly, a shift in leadership paradigm.
